Plot Summary:
The film centers on two young siblings, Becca (Olivia DeJonge) and Tyler (Ed Oxenbould), who embark on a week-long visit to their estranged grandparents' rural Pennsylvania farmhouse. The film is notable for being shot in a 'found footage' style, blending traditional narrative with documentary-like elements to enhance immersion. This approach allows viewers to experience the story through the eyes of Becca, making the suspense more personal and immediate.
Shyamalan’s storytelling emphasizes the themes of family, trust, and the fears that come from confronting past trauma. His signature twist ending keeps viewers guessing and adds a layer of complexity to the horror genre.
