Mr. Nanny (1993): A Fun-Filled Action-Comedy Movie
Introduction
"Mr. Nanny" is a lighthearted action-comedy film released in 1993, blending the excitement of action with family-friendly comedy. Directed by Michael Gottlieb and written by Don Rhymer, this movie stars iconic professional wrestler Hulk Hogan in the lead role, alongside Sherman Hemsley, Robert Hy Gorman, and Madeline Zima. "Mr. Nanny" offers a unique mix of slapstick humor, heartfelt moments, and adventurous set-pieces, making it an entertaining watch for families and fans of the early '90s comedy genre.
What is Mr. Nanny about?
The story revolves around real-life wrestler Sean Armstrong (played by Hulk Hogan), a retired wrestler who has fought hard-earned battles in the ring. After retiring, Sean decides to take on a more peaceful and less physically demanding job — becoming a bodyguard and nanny to two mischievous children from a wealthy family. The children, Taylor and Wesley, portrayed by Madeline Zima and Robert Hy Gorman respectively, are energetic and spirited, often wreaking havoc that tests Sean’s patience and skills.
Sean’s challenge is to ensure the safety of the family, especially with the looming threat posed by kidnappers targeting the children’s wealthy parents. The film balances the action elements of thwarting these menacing kidnappers, with slapstick comedy as Sean tries to manage the children’s wild antics. Through humorous escapades and action-filled sequences, Sean grows close to the kids and forms a protective, fatherly bond with them.
