In the company of several friends on the occasion of his birthday, Varun proposes to Rameshwari, the daughter of Kunwar Raghavendra Singh, but she states that she will only marry him after getting approval from her friend, Maruti – a.k.a. Rambhakt Bhagwan Shri Hanumanji. Varun and others are not prepared to believe this and she narrates a tale that took place in Dholpur near Agra when she was a child. She was living a wealthy lifestyle with her widower father but things changed after he re-married a woman who moved in with an older woman, Kokoi, and things started getting bad for Rameshwari. She befriends a young boy, Maruti, who had come to her rescue once, and introduces him to her father, who hesitantly permits him to live with them. Both of them hang out together until the scheming Kokoi accuses Maruti of stealing, leaving Raghavendra no choice but to issue an ultimatum to his daughter of choosing him or Maruti.
