Directed by the renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, the film stands out in the Bollywood genre for its brave depiction of themes such as extramarital affairs, emotional conflicts, and societal expectations. With a star-studded ensemble cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, and Amitabh Bachchan, the movie paved the way for contemporary Indian cinema to tackle mature subjects with both sensitivity and style.
